Welding Supervisor
Job
Summary:
The Crew Leader will train, coach, evaluate, praise, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate change while being a role model of Legend behaviors and attitude within the welding department.
The Crew Leader will be willing and able to roll up their sleeves and participate in the production process to alleviate bottlenecks in the line.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Provide an example and embody the safety and employment expectations, including professionalism and courtesy.
Recommend measures for improving work processes and performance and implement procedures to make Legend a more efficient organization.
Partner with supporting functions, such as HR, Safety, Purchasing, IT, to ensure production needs are met.
Seek to be proactive in solving issues.
Train and teach employees to complete job assignments according to, and exceeding, expectations by working beside them.
Prepare employees for future growth roles.
Establish procedures to alleviate wastage, property damage, theft, and injury.
Participate in daily greetings and exits of employees.
Develop and report on departmental objectives, continually seeking improvement in safety, quality, and production.
Leverage the talents and skills of assigned employees to assign duties, responsibilities, and workstations.
Provide constant communication to assigned employees, peers, and the leadership team to ensure alignment.
Partner with the Parts and Warranty team to correct any technical issues for customers as soon as possible.
Collaborate with the leadership team in making employment determinations such as hiring, terminations, evaluations, assignment, and promotion.
Develop and maintain procedures to ensure a clean and organized work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with Aluminum MIG and TIG, Steel MIG Strong mechanical aptitude Prior supervisory experience, strongly preferred Must be able to communicate and deal effectively with every level of our organization.
Must have excellent people skills, oral and written communication, leadership, organizational and motivational skills.
Must be able to interpret and enforce the specifications and procedures related to the department.
Be agile - have the ability to problem solve quickly and maneuver the team through change.
Microsoft Office Suite or related software proficiency preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the production facility.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times, with help if necessary.
Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
